It is created and mandated by the Agrology Profession Act to protect and serve the public interest by establishing, maintaining, and enforcing standards of education, practice, and ethics for the agrology profession.
Agrology is a mandatory-registration profession with restricted titles
Those who are academically qualified and practicing agrology in Alberta must register with the AIA. Only those who register can legally call themselves professional agrologists or registered technologists in agrology.
Agrology professionals are regulated
They are required to apply scientific principles to livestock and soil, land, and water systems to safeguard Alberta’s environment and food supply.
